Hi, my friends,
It's been a minute since my last blog. Before I get into the "power of flowers," I want to tell you what a great year this has been for Blossoms and Twine. I have enjoyed getting to know each bride I have worked with this year.
I have been impressed with each bride's respect for me as a florist and the time needed to set up for their wedding celebrations. I appreciate brides and their families who make sure I have ladders and arches set up and ready to go and clear places to work. I appreciate the kindness shown, lovely reviews, and words of gratitude after the event is over. If you are a bride that I have worked with and you are reading this, my love, hugs, appreciation, and genuine gratitude are for you.
Now to explain the "power of flowers." I have experienced a great deal of stress and feelings that have been hurt, not from friends or customers, but from close family members. I tell you this not for sympathy (because I really don't like exposing my feelings), but to tell you how much flowers have helped me during these past 6 months. Planting flower seeds, watching their growth, creating with flowers, preparing for weddings by making sure the flowers are perfect, making a bridal bouquet with that individual bride in mind, and school dance orders. Each opportunity I have been given to create with flowers lifts my spirits. Creating with flowers distracts me from struggles, makes me smile, and gives me strength and purpose. That for me is the power of flowers.
What do you have that gives you that same personal power and makes your day better? Maybe it's exercise, reading books, shopping, cooking, etc. Whatever you have that brings you that same joy or helps when times are stressful, hold on to it. Use it as often as you need. Don't be afraid or feel guilty about doing something that brings joy and peace in your life. If the need arises and you feel you need a little extra help for life's emotional heaviness, find the thing that gives you the power to feel better.
